Amelia's Room Finished

Ok, it's been done for awhile now, but here is Amelia's finished room. For those of you who know Amelia personally, you know she is girl with a capital G! So I wanted a really super fun girly-girly room for her, and I don't think it could get girlier if I tried. It just oozes estrogen. :)

Here is her room before. I am getting to despise the beige color that is my entire home.

Dan and I did the finish wood work, our first ever true home improvement project. Who knew Dan could be so handy? It helps that he has mad math skillz.
Getting there....
Millie couldn't hold in the excitement... and we weren't even done yet!

Accents....
Completed room.... with the chandelier off so you can see the true colors better....

And with the chandelier on.

Yea! On to Isaac's room....

Extreme Home Makeover

Now that we have finally closed on our house, we are working on decorating it. Our number 1 priority is the kids rooms. We decided to do Amelia's room first, mainly because I had lots of ideas already flowing for her room. I will show some of the little budget-friendly projects I have been working on, and when I get her night stand in I will show the whole complete room. Yea!

Here is a lamp I got at the DI for $5, now I was silly and forgot to take before pictures, but imagine the white on the lamp an ugly goldy brassy color. I loved the glass in it though, so a little white spray paint and some mad electrical skills later, we have a lovely white lamp instead. The shade was $6 at Ross, and the lovely feather boa came straight from Amelia's dress-ups. So for $11, voila!

Ok, next is this fabulous Chandelier I got at Mona Lisa's for $40....

It required white spray paint, pink glitter, some blingy beads, and a satin cord cover..... and....

now it's even more fabulous! And yes it is missing about half the bulbs, I need to get more, but I thought I would share before I forget.
